Printed Coffee Cup Sleeves for Cafés and Coffee Bars: Choosing Fit, Board and Design

Printed coffee cup sleeve with logo for cafés and coffee bars

Every takeaway coffee leaves your venue in a guest's hand. At that moment, the cup is the only part of your café, coffee bar or hotel lobby that goes out onto the street. A printed cup sleeve puts your logo exactly there, without switching cup suppliers. This guide explains how a cup sleeve with your logo works, which fit size, coverage and board to choose, and how to get from design to delivery in four steps.

What exactly is a printed cup sleeve?

A cup sleeve (also called a coffee sleeve or cup jacket) is a standalone band of corrugated board that slides onto a paper cup. At Natudine, the sleeve is sold separately: you don't need to buy cups from us. It fits any standard single-wall paper cup from 8 to 16 oz, whichever brand you use.

That makes a printed sleeve a good fit for venues that already have a cup supplier, or that want to keep using their stock of plain cups. You only add the branding.

Why a cup sleeve with your logo instead of a printed cup?

  • No change to your cup supply. You keep your current cups and supplier.
  • Heat insulation. The corrugated sleeve insulates your customer's hand from hot drinks.
  • A lower cost than reprinting the cup itself.
  • Full-colour branding on the spot the guest holds the whole time.

Prefer the cup itself printed? That's possible too: see our custom printed cups, printed directly on single-wall or double-wall cups.

Which fit size do you need?

You choose the sleeve based on the cup size you serve. There are three fit sizes:

  • Fits 8 oz (240 ml): for espresso, cortado and small coffees.
  • Fits 10–12 oz (300–360 ml): the standard size for cappuccino, latte and tea.
  • Fits 16 oz (480 ml): for large coffees and bigger hot drinks.

Serving several sizes? Pick a sleeve per size and use the same design, so your brand stays recognisable on every cup.

Half-wrap or full-wrap coverage?

  • Half-wrap prints roughly the middle band of the cup. A cost-effective choice for smaller logos.
  • Full-wrap prints the entire height of the sleeve, for maximum branding visibility.

If you want to stand out on the street, in photos and on the terrace, full-wrap is the obvious choice. With a compact logo, half-wrap is often enough.

Kraft natural or white coated board?

  • Kraft natural keeps the board's natural brown look, for an earthy, artisan feel that suits many coffee bars and bakeries.
  • White coated has a smoother, white base layer, which makes printed colours look brighter and sharper. Choose it if your logo has bright colours or fine detail.

Either way, the print is full colour: any design, any logo.

How many sleeves should you order?

Custom printed cup sleeves start at 1,000 pieces. The price per piece drops automatically as quantity goes up, to a maximum of 30,000 pieces per order in the configurator. Because the sleeve is sold separately from the cup, you can match the run to your usage without thinking about cup stock.
